The single engine Commander was designed and origianlly built by the Rockwell General Aviation Division.  Rockwell stopped producing the single engine Commander in 1979.

* The 112 was also offered with a 48-gallon "standard" fuel capacity.   The fuel tanks were the same size, but the fuel-filler ports were moved farther inboard to make the tanks overflow earlier, preventing filling the extra 20 gallons.
